RANGE EXTENDER ELECTRICAL AIRCRAFT
To accommodate diverse customer requirements, we plan to offer two energy system options: a fully electric system or a gas-powered range extender. The Range Extender, integrated seamlessly into the aircraft platform, acts as a generator to recharge the aircraft’s high-voltage battery. This solution significantly boosts the aircraft’s range, extending it to over 800 kilometers, ensuring flexibility and reliability for a variety of needs.
ADVANTAGES OF OUR RANGE EXTENDER SOLUTION
Our innovative range extender solution eliminates fluctuating forces and moments on the motor mount, operating in a state of neutrality and impacting the engine mount solely through its weight. As a result, the motor-generator is free from vibrations during startup and shutdown while effectively eliminating vibrations across the entire speed spectrum.
The elegance of this design lies in its simplicity, achieving superior performance without the need for balancing shafts. This reduces the load on the crank mechanism’s gearing, enhancing both the engine's lightweight nature and its mechanical efficiency.
By leveraging components from modern single-cylinder engines, this design streamlines the development of motor-generators for specialized applications, enabling a rapid and cost-effective production process.
ELECTRIC PROPULSION
The EPUs operate on an 800 V AC supply from their inverters. The magni650 weighs 206 kg with cables and inverters and produces up to 700 kW. The magni650 EPUs consist primarily of a permanent magnet synchronous AC motor and a set of motor inverters, along with a constant-speed propeller mounted on the front of the motor and directly driven by the motor shaft, as well as an accessory gearbox for powering ancillary aircraft systems from the shaft.
FOLDED WINGS
With wings folded, our seaplanes can taxi silently to and from harbors using the electric mode, docking or berthing wherever similarly sized vessels can. This greatly expands accessible destinations and provides diverse options for resupply, maintenance, and shelter from wind and waves.
NIGHT OPERATION
Advanced onboard sensing, guidance, and display systems, paired with innovative water-based lighting technologies, are set to make night-time commercial water operations safe and reliable. This breakthrough significantly enhances competitiveness with landplanes, boosts revenue potential, and adds substantial value to seaplane ownership.
LOW COST OF OWNERSHIP
With exceptional fatigue resistance and immunity to saltwater corrosion, our advanced composite structures are designed to extend airframe lifespans to 40 years - far surpassing the typical five-year lifespan of seaplanes operating in tropical saltwater environments. This durability, combined with reduced maintenance costs, minimal downtime, and greater utilization efficiency, positions our seaplanes to dramatically lower life-cycle costs per seat-mile while maximizing operational value.
