REINVENTING COASTAL TRANSPORTANTION

OUR MISSION

Reinventing Coastal Transportation through Sustainable Maritime Mobility, Electrification, and Autonomous. At General Marina, our mission is to revolutionize coastal travel by swiftly and seamlessly transporting passengers from point A to point B through a faster, cleaner, and integrated transportation system. We envision establishing a commercial autonomous maritime service that connect coastal cities, blending the speed of an aircraft with the affordability of a boat. To achieve this, we're seamlessly integrating our sustainable maritime, air, and ground services, creating a comprehensive 3D transportation network. With the General Marina app, a single button connects you from your current location (A) to the marina hub, offers a flight above the water's surface, and then takes you from the marina hub to your destination (B).

Decarbonizing Coastal Cities

General Marina plans to launch its Electric and Range Extender Seaplanes operations in the semi-enclosed regions of the Great Lakes and Mediterranean Sea.

GREAT LAKES OF NORTH AMERICA

General Marina is gearing up to introduce its electrified seaplane operations in the semi-enclosed Great Lakes region, recognized as the largest group of freshwater lakes on Earth, encompassing an expansive total area of 94,250 square miles (244,106 km2). The extensive shoreline, including islands, spans an impressive 11,000 miles (17,700 km) and is home to approximately 30 million residents across the United States and Canada. Annually, the region welcomes millions of tourists, reaching 70 million in 2019. Renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, the Great Lakes region features some of the most stunning beaches in the world.

EXISTING DOCK INFRASTRUCTURE

General Marina, recognizing the potential for maximizing efficiency and leveraging existing resources, is strategically planning to utilize the current dock infrastructure for scheduled flights. This forward-thinking approach aims to capitalize on the infrastructure already in place, harnessing its capabilities for enhanced operations. By repurposing and optimizing existing dock facilities, the General Marina aims to streamline logistics, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact. This decision reflects a commitment to sustainable development and resource utilization, as well as an understanding of the practical advantages offered by the established dock infrastructure.

ULTRA-FAST CHARGING

Our state-of-the-art ultra-fast chargers represent a leap forward in marine charging experience, offering unparalleled efficiency, reliability, and immense power for rapid recharging of high-capacity batteries. This pioneering innovation is poised to significantly reduce the time between flights, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and a seamlessly unified aviation experience. Integrated into the existing dock infrastructure, our seaplanes will efficiently handle passenger loading/unloading while simultaneously undergoing the necessary charging process upon arrival at the dock.

RANGE EXTENDER ELECTRICAL AIRCRAFT

The aviation industry has recently witnessed significant advancements, with a strong focus on eco-friendly and efficient alternatives to traditional combustion engines. One such breakthrough is our innovative range extender technology for aircraft. Unlike conventional solutions, this system exerts no fluctuating forces or moments on the motor mount, maintaining a neutral operational state. Its impact on the engine mount is limited solely to its weight, ensuring seamless integration. As a result, our range extender eliminates vibrations not only during startup and shutdown but across the entire speed spectrum, setting a new standard for efficiency and smooth operation.

ULTRA-LOW VIBRATION

One of the key advantages of our range extender technology is its ability to significantly reduce vibrations compared to traditional combustion engines and other range extender solutions. Conventional engines are inherently prone to vibrations, which can cause discomfort for passengers and pilots while necessitating additional components to mitigate their effects.

Our innovative design features two single-cylinder combustion engines arranged symmetrically in a single plane, with their cylinder axes aligned along a straight line. The crankshafts are housed within the engine block and interconnected by gears with a gear ratio of 1:1, ensuring opposite rotation directions.

The first crankshaft is coupled to the primary generator, while the second crankshaft connects to either a secondary generator or a flywheel. A critical design requirement is ensuring that the moment of inertia of the first crankshaft-generator assembly matches that of the second crankshaft-generator or flywheel assembly. Additionally, the cylinder axes are positioned perpendicular to the plane of symmetry between the crankshafts, allowing both pistons to reach top dead center (TDC) simultaneously. This precise configuration minimizes vibration, providing a smoother and more efficient operation.

ELECTRIC PROPULSION

The magni650 EPU (Electric Propulsion Unit) by magniX is a high-performance electric propulsion system designed for aviation. It operates on an 800V AC supply and delivers up to 700 kW of power, while weighing 206 kg, including cables and inverters. The EPU consists of a permanent magnet synchronous AC motor, a set of motor inverters, and an accessory gearbox for powering ancillary aircraft systems. A constant-speed propeller is mounted on the front of the motor and is directly driven by the motor shaft, ensuring efficient and reliable performance for electric and hybrid-electric aircraft.
